I had 6 nice little bearded silkies hatch out about a week ago, all healthy and robust. One thing I did notice, at a few days old, is that Occasionally a few of the chicks eyes would stick shut and I would have to get a warm washcloth to help them get their eye open again. Now I have a little chick who's eye it's crusted over and shut and I'm having to clean it and apply coconut oil every few hours to keep it open. This doesn't seem to be really helping much. does anyone have any ideas? The chick is eating (purine start and grow medicated) and drinking fine. Also, another one if the chicks has been making a noise like a squeaky toy since day 2. ??

It has a little goop that crusts over if I don't clean it out in time. No sneezing or noticeable abnormal behavior otherwise. Ok! Thanks! Coconut oil is all I had tonight and I thought maybe neosporin, but I will look for that...I wonder if I can buy it at a farm store or TSC?
