She's so cute and looks quite proud of herself!

I've only got one picture of a hen with her egg yet (only two girls laying so far!) and it's sweet Babette, my Golden Comet, again! This was her with her first egg, which just popped out of her on my chair in the coop. I don't know which of us was more surprised! She was only a little over 16 weeks at the time, and has proven to be a really interesting layer of pretty pink speckled eggs!

I just got a Golden Comet last week with 2 other pullets and she laid an egg an hour after being here!!! That was impressive.

Mama, our Buff Orpington pullet was in her 2 week quarantine pet taxi after the 4-H fair and was so excited to be back home, she laid her 1st egg the next morning!
