Weevils In Chick Starter, Feed Or Toss??

I personally like it when our feed has weevils. The chickens love them! They eat bugs all day in the yard, why not weevils?

I'd toss it. If the feed has been around long enough for weevils to hatch, then it's probably lost most of it's nutrition. A neighbor gave me some goat feed that had weevils, and I dumped it in a field, thinking the deer or birds would eat it. Nothing ate it! That pile of food sat there until it rained and washed away. Crows, squirrels, deer, possums, and raccoons all turned their noses up at it.

The Feed Is Outside Next To The Coop In The Original Bag In A Metal Garbage Can About 100' From My House. I Don't Think Getting Them Into The House Will Be A Problem. Or Are They That Crafty? I Also Have 5 Hens And A Rooster, Should I Just Dump It On The Ground And Let Them At It When They Free Range?
