I recently had a hen that was weezing and seemed to be having breathing difficulty. I seperated her from the rest of my chickens and she is not having any problems now. The issue now is my 1 year old Black Tail Jap Rooster is weezing. I am not sure what to since the hen just recovered quicky do you all think he will recover as the hen did? Thanks.

I'd give tylan 50 injectable; its GREAT for respiratory illness! dose is as follows; large birds 1/2 cc; small birds 1/4 cc once daily for 5 to 7 days. you should see great improvements in a few days! you can get tylan 50 at the feed store. don't worry that the bottle says for cattle and swine; MANY poultry owners including myself use tylan for respiratory illness. i think in this situation tylan 50 is a good choice. you can give the injection at the nape of neck or side of breast. if you have never given injection you tube has a great tutorial on how to inject a chicken by looking up injecting tylan in chickens. or similar. i think this will really help. if this were my chicken this is how is treat. i wouldn't personally let it go.it runs a risk of getting a lot worse. i hope this is helpful to you and wish you the best! good luck!
