Weight loss? Any supporters?

I'm going to join you. I have a great deal of weight to lose. I do about an hour on the elliptical trainer three times a week, but I need to start reducing calories. I'm not very good about reducing my food intake. I just like to eat. However, I don't like the way I look and feel, so it is time to take control.

Does anyone have any will power for sale?

I wish....LOL My family has a history of heart problems & diabetes. So I just have to remind myself that my paternal grandpa was dead at 42 from diabetes & heart disease. My maternal grandpa, dead at 56 from heart disease and my maternal grandmother, dead at 62 of heart disease. They liked to eat, too.

I'm in, but lets structure this thing. You find a good app or website, you list it. You do your starting weight and your goal. You post your weight here every Sat evening. You post when your flying high. You post when you cheated.

I lost over 40 pounds and was at my goal weight of 160. Ill weigh myself tomorrow morning and list it. My bet is that it will be around 175. I have around 15 pounds to loose.

Bye the way, I lost my weight with zero exercises. I simply calorie counted and watched what I ate. I cooked all my meals for the week on Sunday and weighed everything out then freeze it. that's how I lost my weight. New job and no access to a microwave. I'm eating out and gaining again because I cant do the frozen pre weighed dinners.

sorry for being rambling

I don't like doing the websites...but would it be ok to just have a notebook, write down what I ate and the calories, then post it up? I have about 10 lbs to lose. Oh yeah, I should probably buy a scale LOL

I'll post up the links later. I'm at home for lunch from work and I gotta go back in a few minutes. At the very least I get to walk to work!

Okay, I'm pretty sure my scale is defective because it says I've lost 10 lbs. in two weeks. I know I've lost a little, though, because my fat jeans are too big, my in between jeans fit nicely and I was actually able to zip my skinny jeans (although they were way too snug to be worn in public). I've been exercising for 30 minutes 5 times a week and still trying to eat more fresh veggies without depriving myself of what I really want. I know calorie counting will never be a viable long term option for me because while I've lost weight that way in the past, I just don't enjoy it. My family has a history of diabetes and heart disease, too, and I've noticed that those who keep physically active are the ones who live longer and have a better quality of life. I try to remind myself of that anytime I want to give up my workouts!

The sad thing is, I don't have any non-photo shopped full body pictures! lol Any time I see a full length picture of me, I slightly edit it.

For the sake of experimentation, I may get around to taking one!

So so true. But I do my jawline too!
Quick way to lose 5 pounds to is cutting out starbucks or getting iced tea instead of a latte. But that in itself.... impossible. Or I find myself being good about the iced tea then getting a week straight of grande caramel macchiato...ughhhhhh

Thanks guys!

Well, I lost a few pounds over the weekend...but not the good way...we all got sick after going to the fair...fever, diarrhea, nauseua and vomiting. I haven't been able to keep anything down since Friday night. :( I've been living off water, gatorade and saltines.

Sorry to hear about you getting ill, RFF! That's one of the worst ways to lose weight.
I've eaten a stalk of celery with peanut butter and a few of my garden tomatoes. Lots of water. I'm not a soda or a coffee drinker. I'll let you know how I do with supper..I'm making homemade gnocchi with homemade red sauce. Uh oh!
