just wondering if somone could tell me on average how manny lbs are lost from live weight-after butcher

70% is a good number to go by, however some claim to have 75% with poultry.

I think it would be less for livestock.
 
For broiler/fryer the yield is about 75%, the waste is about 25%. For a stewing hen the waste is about 30% and the yield about 70%. I got this from the book Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens by Gail Damerow. It is pretty close. When we weighed some of our first batch of roasters a 12 pound live chicken dressed out about nine pounds,
