I’m a new chicken owner and my 23 week old Delaware pullet has this wierd thing on her crown. I have no idea what it is and I would really appreciate any help. Could it also be dirt? I’m really afraid of touching her crown so I haven’t felt it.
Thanks!!

Looks like dirt but you need to find out in case it's fungal.

Get yourself a wet washcloth catch her, sit down with her in your lap and clean it!
She might shake her head a bit, but it doesn't hurt them a bit.
Then you'll know.
Their comb, wattles, and earlobes are very warm. This is normal.

If it is not mud, it is possible that she got this from trauma to her comb from other chickens or fencing in a pen. The one spot on her face looks a bit like pox, but since it appears to be the same as the tips of the comb, probably is an injury. How cold is the weather where you live now? I would keep an eye on it, and it should start healing in a few weeks turning tan and then white. Fungus can affect the comb, and usually looks white to tan and can spread over the whole head. I don't think it is that, but keep itin mind. Miconazole or clotrimazole applied to the areas will treat fungus. In extreme cold weather, we see dark comb tips due to frostbite.
