Not being able to bear weight, I'd lean toward injury too. Sometimes an injury can take a while to improve.
No, from the looks of her comb/face, etc. she's not yet come into lay. Some Orpingtons can take their time LOL

She’s moving a bit more today but do you see how it seems her pain is up on her thigh because she has no support for her actual foot. I’m worried it’s mareks and I’m just too new to chickens to recognize it.
Thank you so much I have amended her diet and trying to flush her out with plain water. Of course I have called around and can’t find an avian vet near me. I’m worried about her leg because it does seem like the injury is up higher; her foot doesn’t seem to bother her it’s her thigh.I just read the article on gout supplied by Wyorp. It could be gout. It's prevalent in commercial flocks and the supplier mentioned it so...please read it carefully. It wouldn't hurt to amend her diet accordingly just in case it is gout. If the presumed injury doesn't heal as one would expect then you could go next step with gout treatment to include medicine if required.
Thank you! I have been doing this yesterday and today and she is up walking around and doing great! What are you feeding?
I'd stick with a nutritionally balanced chick starter until she comes into lay.
It wouldn't hurt to give her 1/4tablet B-Complex once daily.
Glad to hear she's doing better!Thank you! I have been doing this yesterday and today and she is up walking around and doing great!
Oh I’m so happy to hear this. I will give it another weekThat's wonderful news!! My duckling with a vitamin defiency needed a full 2 week treatment or her symptoms started coming back. Probably err on the side of caution and do a full 2 week course. Water soluble so can't hurt. Happy for you.![]()
