what's up with this guy? spotted him at a "country-themed" outdoor mall. ive raised silkies and never seen anything like him. not sure what gender he is or why he's bald.

parasites? bad diet? chicken pattern baldness? maybe his father was a vulture? :p his bald patches were very clean, specific, and symmetrical

my mother was with me -- she though he was repulsive-looking, but i think he's absolutely adorable and fascinating!! he was very sweet.

i talked to a vendor and she said the chickens at the mall were not well taken care of. :( nobody is in charge of feeding them, they live off grass, kettle corn, and hotdog buns, and they wander in and out of shops and parking lots. poor things.

I thought Showgirl at first, but it doesn't have black skin. A Showgirl is just a Silkie crossed with a Turken. Occasionally Silkies have pink skin. Must just be a poorly bred Showgirl. :/

Poorly bred Showgirl - all silkies don't have black skin, and sometimes no walnut comb - just makes them disqualified if you wanted to show them. Showgirls are the same.

Picture is a bow tie showgirl - without the bow tie, the entire neck would be featherless. Checkout the "showgirls," thread
