Weird behavior from my Easter Egg baby

My little Meadow is the quirkiest of my girls, but this morning I noticed her doing something very strange. After laying her egg, which took her forever to find the right spot, she started picking up straw, twigs, leaves, whatever she could find and trying to pile it on her back. Has anyone seen this before? Know why she would do it?

Oh my, that is strange, I haven't hear of this, but I do have a wicked strange Easter Egger, her name is Clyde and she used to stretch out across the whole brooder and just lay there making weird purring noises. I think it's just the breed, haha!

Yes i have seen my hens do that.its her way of trying to hide.

Thank you. From what I've been reading on here, they do seem to be a bit peculiar. She's the sweetest thing, tho, just love her.
