I guess this is the right section for this if not i'm sorry in advance.

So today while cutting grass I noticed the chickens totally freaking out in there pen. I realized they were getting terrorized by the riding mower. They were jumping up against the wire while running up the ramp to hide. It's not weird that they are scared of the mower, but rather it's the noise of the blades that scares them. We move there chicken tractor everyday with the riding mower and that doesn't bother them. Only when the blades are on do they think they are about to be dinner. It made me think while cutting grass what else makes them act like that? It's funny cause we use the wheelbarrow around the yard and it doesn't make noise. Sure enough the one wheeled monster looks hungry to them and they freak out and up the ramp they go to hide! The yellow handled hoe I carry to the garden same effect. Back the truck up in the yard towards them, they will be gone. Now so far that's all I can think of that bothers them. What they don't fear is the neighbors dog who runs over every now and then to "mark" the corner of the pen. Loud thunder from the storm yesterday they were fine with. Heck even the 70 mile per hour winds from yesterday's storm they just laid down while branches from the trees came flying down and crashing all around them including hitting the wire above them. Yep they are fine with all that but forbid I carry a hoe to the garden!!

Lol. Yep! Mine are afraid of the evil shovel that I use to clean their coop. But I can mow the lawn and they don't mind that. Strange logic, isn't it??
