I picked this strange egg out of our duck nest. We just got added a newbie to our flock so I'm assuming its hers since we haven't seen any like this before but is this normal?

Yep it's normal for some breeds of duck especially Cayuga to lay black eggs!:D

I knew she wasn't full Indian Runner! Lol! She is at least partly but she doesn't stand as tall as the rest of our girls. Thanks

She's black. I was trying to take her picture when my other Runner decided to photo bomb! Lol! :lau [IMG] She's the one squatting in the back. She's a lot more grumpy and a lot less shy than or other girls.

After looking a pictures of Cayuga ducks I can definitely see that in her! Her name is Mo because her feathers stand up in a mohawk when she's mad. :lau

She looks very much like my two Cayugas. I hope they lay eggs as pretty as that! (Assuming that they and the other three lazy feathered pigs ever decide to lay any eggs lol.)
