Hi everyone,
my hen has a few things that are odd. One, she is molting and on the underneath of her there is a hard bump that I have circled in the photos. It isn’t attached to anything, I can move it around. Is it a tumor or something like an ingrown hair since she is molting or is it deadly? In the photos it is also noticeable that there is a black thing right next to the bump

Also her eye has always had two things that are kind of suspicious. One, she has a black lining in her eye on the side. I have looked back at old pictures from this year and it seems like she has had it for awhile but still wondering if it is normal or not (could be just her normal eye). Additionally, for about six months I have noticed that she has three white dots in her eye. I’m not sure what this is but she is not blind and it doesn’t seem to be affecting her but still curious. You can slightly see one of the dots in her eye but I will try to get a better picture if anyone needs it.

i am mainly concerned about the bump underneath her so if anyone has any ideas, please help!

I believe that white spots in the eye are indicative of cataracts...
are her pupils oddly shaped, or grayish in color?
No, she has normal colored and shaped pupils. But she does have drooping eyes... as you can see in the picture the front corner or her eye and skin have a bit of space but I don’t think that is related.

Now you should be able to zoom

I would take a guess that the bump is an ingrown feather. Does the feather shaft right above that lump look odd at the base?

As for her eye, I'm not sure what to make of that. I would monitor and see if it gets worse.
Do you notice if she ever has a discharge from the eyes or nostrils?

The black bump underneath the bump looks odd it that is what you are asking. Also her skin is peeling around it and on it and it seems a bit smelly but it might have been something else? I have noticed she has discharge in one eye but that only occurred two times (she also has small respiratory problems so that’s what I thought it was). So the black lining isn’t normal?

I can't really tell about the eye.

If the skin is peeling around the bump and it's smelly, then I would be inclined to probe around with a sterilized needle to see if there's pus or an impacted feather follicle. If that's not something you are comfortable doing, then seeking vet care would be a good idea.

actually, i looked at it again and the smell was probably stuck on poop. also, underneath her she is peeling in a lot of spots. is that normal during a molt?
