Weird bump on chickens ear?

Hello!

I have a little 9 month old Japanese bantam. I believe she's going through molting right now. I just discovered this on her ear. I have no idea what it is.. doesn't seem to be bothering her and when I touch it she doesn't really freak out. Any ideas? I was going to put something on it but didn't really know what or if anything was safe...

It could be a large number of things, none of them very bad.
She should be alright, like I said, keep an eye on it and report if anything else happens.
