A beginner quail-keeper here...
I have just noticed a weird bump on my female button quail's toe. She is walking fine, but I know that they're prey animals, therefore good at hiding weaknesses. It is a bit swollen and she keeps her toe slightly titled compared to the other toes.
I have no idea what is going on. Is this something serious? Can I do anything to help her?

I have uploaded images of my quail's toe and legs. Does someone know more about this?

It looks like an injury with a minor infection. Keep an eye on it, but she'll probably be fine. If it starts to turn completely black, then she'll probably lose her toe, but even then, she may well live a perfectly normal life.

Thank you for your message. Is there any way I can treat her to reduce the infection?
If it were fresh, you'd be able to do more. The best thing to do would be to keep it clean and watch. Her feet look pretty clean, so that's good. You can take a container and put warm (quail body temp or a couple degrees warmer) water in there and have her walk around for a few minutes at a time to clean it. You can add some antibacterial wash, just make sure it doesn't contain any pain killers.
