Weird Chicken

My grandpa recently told me that one of our chickens seems to be hiding her head, and is not coming out. He's also told me that she has "white stuff around her butt" but has layed an egg and doesn't appear to be dying. Help?

Update: She unfortunately passed away this morning...and i couldn't really get a good pic

So sorry to hear she has passed.
If you are able and willing, examining the bird may offer you some more insight into what happened and whether you need to be concerned about potential risk to the rest of your birds.
