Hey all, recently one of my younger hens started laying. However she lays very pale eggs. When rubbed off with water the egg goes back to brown. Is this something I should be concerned about?
Note: Normal egg on right

Purple egg! :clap
Very rare!
And no, nothing to be concerned about. Definitely something to brag about. Or sell for $20/ ea., lol. No, no, I'm kidding. I got one once and tried to preserve it by blowing out the innards and shellacking it with clear nail polish. It turned blotchy colors of brown. 🙁

Next time u blow and egg out don’t put the nail polish on it. The egg shell will stay its natural color without anything on it. You also don’t have to blow eggs out to preserve them. Just set the egg at room temp and let the egg sit. The insides will turn hard and your egg will not smell of explode.
