weird crop?? help?

My barred rock hen, 8 months. Today, during my weekly hen inspection. My barred rocks crop feels like playdough like clay. I massaged most of it down. What do I do??? Help??

She may have an impacted crop or maybe she ate a lot just before you noticed her crop. Wait until morning to see if it feels empty.

She didn't eat today. She seems tired too. I threw food and she just stayed.

Keep massaging her crop to empty as much as you can. Some folks give bread soaked in olive oil to help things move through.

Don't give him any food only water for 12 hours. See if the crop has gone down to more normal size. How long has it been play-dough like?

give GRIT! it will help break it up! olive or mineral oil and massage.. check in the morning

Is it squishy like a water balloon ir hard? If squishy, most likely sour crop. Seperate, withhold food for 24hours. Give her acv water. Second day give her yogurt all the while massaging crop. I've read olive oil slows digestion so be careful with use.

Wait until morn and feel her crop before she eats. Then look up sour or impacted crop.
