Weird dark egg.

Certain feed components, especially cottonseed and a weed called Shepherds Purse, are known to cause greenish yolks in raw eggs.

It can also be due to bacterial contamination.

Maybe it's old

Not old, just collected yesterday. I guess I should have mentioned these are duck eggs and half the ducks just finished molting. I believe this is coming from one that’s just starting to lay again. Maybe just some funny eggs starting out but I’m worried about possible infection.

My husband apparently ate one like this yesterday . He didn’t get sick but I’m still not going to eat it.

I have no idea what's going on with it, but it looks gross. I don't think I would eat it either.
