Hi all,
One of my Muscovy hens has been sitting on her nest for what feels like ages, and today is the 36th day. She has about 20 eggs in her nest, and so far nothing happening. I keep listening out for peeping but it’s so hard because all the neighbourhood sparrows have to make their noises right now!
The hen stood up for a moment to preen herself a bit and move positions on the nest, wheI noticed one or two eggs had this weird “dent” in it. Just when I wanted to take a pic she decided to sit back down on the nest. I don’t want to disturb her, but I’ll try and take a picture next time she gets up.
My question is if this “dent” in the egg is a bad thing? Is it hatching, or getting ready to, or is it a bad egg? If it’s bad I want to try and remove it.
Thanks.
Super excited for the new ducklings! Wish they would finally hatch!
