Weird egg- never seen before?! (Not lash that I can see)

Hello!

My girl's been offer game recently and hasn't laid in quite a few weeks. I found a weird shell in the coop run yesterday... And today this. This is the first time she's laid an actual egg in probably 2 months. The attached stuff is kind of squishy. Anyone seen this? Acting eating and drinking fine.

Looks like a normal egg with some lash material attached.

You could give her a daily calcium citrate 600 + vitamin D3 for a few days to help expel whatever residues she might be stashing inside her oviduct.

Lash material often means that the hen is suffering from an oviduct infection.

Improper handling can lead to an egg breaking inside the oviduct which often results in salpingitis.
