So my hens are 24 weeks and I usually get 5 to 6 eggs a day. In the last week I have noticed my girls eating something on the ground. When I go look it is like a cracked egg but no shell. Yesterday morning I went out to the nest and I found a egg very soft and the top had not closed. It had a yoke in it but not sealed. Today when I went to get eggs I found a smushed up rubber soft egg in nest. Do you think the 7th hen is laying but the eggs aren't normal yet. My other girls started laying perfect eggs from the beginning.

I sometimes crush up egg shells for them after someone said to. I haven't given them oyster shells. They all eat the same (free range and organic layer feed)

That looks like more than just a soft shell...but maybe it is.
Not unusual for new layers.

Entire diet should be looked......layer feed can be fine depending on percentages.
Oyster shells on the side in a separate container is rarely a bad idea if some need it.
But if you are feeding a lot of other foods, you may need a different main feed.

The picture of the egg I posted was a egg that was in the nest for a few days. The others ones I got were just paper thin shells.
