Earlier tonight before setting my eggs in the brooder, i had a weird thing with one of the eggs. When i was candling it, i could see something shadowy inside the egg going along with me moving the egg. It wasn't very clear, but i didn't see anything like this with any of the other 29 eggs. I set it anyway because i wasn't sure if that was a bad thing or not. Any toughts on it? I don't have any experience candling.

I am not an expert here by any means but I had a similar situation with my latest batch of eggs. When you saw this, did you move the egg, kind of gently giggle it, and the black spot moved freely with the movement? That is what mine did and I discovered that it was an unfertilized egg with a dark brown spot of ?? next to the yolk. If you candle again, depending on what day you are on, shine the light through the bottom (pointy end) and see if the egg is clear. You may have an unfertilized one.

Yess, that is exactly what it looked like, good description. Is it safe to let it be there until day 7 so i can candle again to see if there is any development or should i discard of it asap? I just set them tonight, so now is day 0 :barnieStill such a long wait!

It should be fine to leave it till day 7. I only found out about mine on day 7 candling so go ahead and put it in and wait and see. Good luck with you hatch over there in Belgium. :fl Please let us know how it goes.
