Weird egg while candling

The floating thing wasn’t very big.

Thank you for the reassuring answer and the tips for marking the eggs. Since it’s my first time setting eggs i did them all at once, but i might be going to staggered hatching soon if the incubatir proves to be dependable, i have a lot of people waiting for chicks, so that way i could supply them more spread over the season. It would make sure my living room isn’t being overrun by chicks i guess... What are your main reasons for staggered Hatching? And do you have any tips for determining what chicks hatch from what eggs? I got some eggs from another breeder and would like to know which chicks come from those eggs.

I love staggered hatching! It gives me the constant excitement of hatching (my personal Christmas) . It also allows me to set a few different sets and on day 18, I pull the eggs that are due to lockdown and put in one incubator. The others can remain until it’s their turn. It also allows me to manipulate certain Eggs (if certain Eggs need more/ less humidity due to air cell size, I can put them in one incubator and run a different humidity).

I can’t seem to edit my other post. I wanted to add that I mark the Eggs with air cells at various intervals (to confirm growth). But also, mark with date set or group number , whatever pattern I’m following. I have weighed and recorded Eggs individually at each point. All these details I write in a notebook that goes back to the numbered egg. In addition, as I candle, if I see anything suspicious, I’ll mark the egg a certain way: “?” For Eggs that don’t look quite right.
