My hens are about 30 weeks old! Whatever that is in months haha and they get their regular feed plus they are “free range” so whatever bugs and whatnot they can find in the yard throughout the day.
Should I be supplementing with calcium?
They’ve been on starter feed because they’ve only recently started laying in the last few weeks. We moved from Colorado to Texas, we were advised by a local feed store owner they were probably not laying due to stress and we should keep them on the starter feed until they lay. We’re just trying to finish off that bag now!
i read that article you sent! Very helpful!
How do I know if it’s infectious bronchitis??
It's fine to keep them on starter/grower or get them all flock, though you will have to supplement them calcium. Do you have any cockerels or roosters?
Ok. The higher protein content is better for birds anyhow, so keeping them on starter/grower is good for them. Crushed egg shells or crushed oyster shells are good calcium supplements.
