So I have 4 girls, they have all been laying for approximately 5-6 weeks, two started first then the younger 2 a few weeks later, I get 4 eggs most days and on some occasions 3, all the eggs are laid around 10ish,however I have started seeing in the evening 1-2 eggs just randomly in the garden, perfect in every way, except for the fact that the shell is like rubbery and soft, the youngest Polly, did it in front of me the other day, just squatted and plopped it out, anyone else have this and k ow why

What are you feeding them? Are they getting enough calcium? If so, it can be normal. New layers will sometimes lay wonky eggs.
They have layer feed, and oyster shell freely available, they free range all day, occasionally treat with mealworm, most days I give them fruit like blueberries watermelon and cherry

I am having the same issue, but only 2 of our 8 girls are laying at the moment they are eating pellets for egg layers with calcium I also put a dish of oyster shells for them but they aren’t touching that here are photos of my last 2 that were laid

Do they eat their feed if they are put free ranging all day?I can see how they wouldnt be getting enough calcium if they relied solely on free ranging for food. I dont let mine out until the afternoon to free range. 1. To train them to keep laying in the boxes since they're new layers and 2. To be sure they are eating their feed and calium and not filling up on bugs.
