Weird Feather growth in male Pekin

I have a male pekin that i am treating for bumblefoot and last night i notice what i thought was a bug on his right top wing.
It is attached, as i tried to pull it out last night. When pulling the feather i notice Lucky was in discomfort, so i stopped. I can't see any infection, but the little feather downs are hard to move out of the way. It looks as if new feathers are growing in around this thing. I just wonder if i possibly may have broken a blood feather and this is the after math.....

could be a broken blood feather leading edge of the wing is a common place for those and if the shaft broke oddy that could do it - spritz it with water to see if you can loosen it to tell is the crud is blood - old blood will be crumbly and brown with brownish red run off

if it is a broken blood feather DONT CUT IT it may bleed more if the vein is still active
get a pair of needle nose pliers, some spray antiseptic or quick stop and if you can get a helper bonus!

hold the wing extended firmly
the wing held you need to grab the feather shaft as close to the base as possible with the pliers and pull firmly and swiftly (like you pull a pull cord for a two stroke engine firm swift pull straight back)

you made get some noise from the bird done worry this is normal blood feathers are sensitive but getting it out means it can stop bothering them and they wont hit it and bleed more.

spritz the area with the spray or sprinkle with powder and apply pressure until any bleeding stops (it self closes pretty fast if you get the whole quill out)

apply meal worms liberally to the bill region until sulking stops.

I would leave it alone, but I would also inspect the area where it meets the skin.

I haven't done anything with it. It doesn't seem to bother him. It's hard to see what's going on because of all those little tinny tiny feathers! Here's the best picture I could get.
