Weird gel in coop

I just went outside to collect eggs and found a gelatin like, yellowish transculent goop in my one of my nesting boxes. There is no eggshell left so I don't think that an egg was eaten. There wasn't much of it so I don't think that it was an egg without a shell. I have no new layers in my flock and I continually provide oyster shells. I don't think that it is a lash egg, but I could be wrong. Is it pus? Is one of my hens sick? I have no idea what to do! Please help me!

How does it smell? If it's vile, it's pus - no smell egg contents. It's possible there was a shell misfire and the egg got laid with only a thin membrane on it. Occasionally a hen will have an 'oops' moment, doesn't mean too much by itself as long as it doesn't become regular.
Do you know which hen laid it? It may be worth checking all butts to make sure the membrane is not still inside the bird......
