Weird growth on nostril

Look up “bot fly” that sure looks an awful lot like one. Google pictures.

@PostTurtle @Pastel The Rooster zooming in better I see her nare is open, this is in the skin above it. It's possible it is / was something living, and she killed it or damaged it by scratching it, because the base looks different than the bot fly examples.

I'd want to know if this is indeed something living. This may warrant a vet's advice and/or help, because of where it is - above her nare and so close to her eye. You'd want to truly immobilize her head, protecting her eyes, it's risky to get tweezers near it (I'd be game if I had a trusted / experienced in handling chickens helper).

Ah, I see! Yes, I always go to azygous, Wyorp Rock, Eggcesive, Eggcited4Life, and a few others. You all are lucky that I didn't tag you! I may not be the brightest person, (Ha, even though I am a gifted HONORS student with all A's) But I can be kinda thoughtful!
