Just as title says…one of my hens laid a weird egg. It’s super elongated, although same basic shape as her reg eggs, but with this weird, hard spiral design that looks a shade of muted purple on the top of the egg. Any idea?
Might be helpful to know: Maggie is paired off w Grandpa, who recently attacked another roo. since the attack, Grandpa and Maggie have been cordoned off TOGETHER, in a 9’x13’ cage, separated from the flock. They have still had access to food and water ofc and get their scratch grains and treats along w the rest of the flock. They also have a VERY little coop (it was Ecopet or something if I remember correctly- got off an auction site) basically big enough for them to go in and sleep at night. Not sure if changes like this would cause issues w eggs being laid though…
