Weird looking black copper marans chick

Did they hatch from nice dark eggs? If so they should lay dark eggs for you.

No they hatched from tan/brown eggs
My marans dont lay dark eggs i dont know why maybe poor genetics and all the other breeders in my area have the same problem they look exactly like how a marans should look but they lack the dark eggs genes i guess they barely make a 4 on the egg color chart

I recently hatched 6 marans eggs frim my breeder black copper marans birds
The chicks look good (black back ,grey/white belly ,feathered feet etc)
Except for 1 that looks a little different
I am very confused as to why this one came out different than the others
I know He is a black copper marans becuase he hatched from a black copper marans egg

I know the parents have blue genes could he be half blue or something?

I had one just hatch, not quite as much white but from my own stock so possibly just a anomaly. I also had eggs a cpl years ago from a breeder, he had about 50 hens. All he had was BCM and I ended up with one white chick. It's been known to happen occasionally.
