That is possibly what happened.

I DID quote Black Cats post and removed it then quoted that OP's post.

Did you do that all before posting, or change the quote after?
If you did it after, I think that that answers it.

By clicking on "Edit" on the post, and then disabling the bbcode editor.

I got a notification (top notification) telling me that I had a reply to my post in the thread. When I click the link, it leads me to the post in the screenshot, where I am not quoted.

I also got this weird notification several weeks ago.

It does not allow me to fully remove the grey box with black cats name in it.

So I suppose that that explains it- it says that I was quoted because I was, but the box is empty because it doesn't show. Don't know why you can't remove the box, though.

You can remove it if you disabled the bbcode editor.

I think it can also be removed by just hitting backspace multiple times inside of the quote box.
