I have a 7 week cochin/silkie that was running around and doing great Thursday morning, I live on the east coast and we had storms throughout the day & night. I noticed Thursday night when I went out to close off the coop for the night that this baby (Raven) was still down in the pen hunkered down and not acting like it normally does. For the first time I was able to pick it up without chasing it. I put it in the coop with the others and waited for morning. So Friday morning when Raven wasn't any better I went in and got her/him, wrapped it in a towel and held it in my lap. It then got a little more active. I've seen Raven eat and drink, but it's not running arond the pen chasing flys or anything like it was doing before the storm. I'm new at having chickens and I don't know what to do!!!

Can you get some Corid for it this morning? Until then I would give it some electrolyte water or put some sugar in water with a dropper or syringe VERY CAFEFULLY a drop aat time so not to choke it. Buttermilk or a little milk would coat it's intestines until you can get it. Keep it warm. Lethargy, puffing up or hunching, poor appetite, and diarrhea are the signs of coccidiosis. It is common at his age. Corid (amprollium) dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid in 1 gallon of water, and given over 5 days.
