One of my young silkie roosters (not purebred) has just started crowing and it's the weirdest sound! It doesn't sound like a crow at all, more like a gentle "weee hooo" I thought all roosters made the same loud "cock a doodle do" or do they all have different singing voices?

There's a lot of variation in how roosters crow. I have a half silkie rooster and his crow is very high pitched and squealy compared to a larger rooster breed I had.
My polish rooster’s first crow was a “eee-ah-ooh”!

i hatch and sell chicks when they start to crow it will sound weird, There is nothing to worry about.
They all sound different. My Polish (now soup, he was a jerk) had this really stupid crow that sounded like someone yelling "Whoohooo!!". Made me laugh every time.
Too bad he was a jerk. I would have kept him just for the crow if he was a gentleman

My Langshan Cockerel is learning to crow and all he can manage is "Awwwww".

Yes, it is normal. He’s still young. His crow should mature with him.
