Weird spot on chicks neck. Opinions welcome!

So this is probably something inflicted, as we put them into a cat crate for cleaning and the crazy little thing stuck its neck out and got a bit caught in the back side of the wire door. I wasn't holding the door, so I'm not sure how hard it was pressed.
It very well could have been another chick, though, as this happened pretty fast.
So it could be anything, and I'm welcome to other opinions.




It's about a dime in size. Not pus, it's pretty hard. Has gotten a little bigger since yesterday when we noticed it. We have put betadine on it. Has some black scabs and some busted feathers.

Any opinions on what this is/what to do?

I would apply some betadine or iodine to it to help hide it and to prevent infection. If it doesn't start healing, then it could be a cyst.

Yep, love our betadine. It appeared to be reacting well to it so far. Poor thing. Poor, dumb thing.
