Weird stuff going on in the coop!

OK, so embarrassed to ask about this but I just have to. Twice, we have seen my RIR hen jump on my BO hen, grab her by the neck, and hump her, just like a rooster. We were grossed out! Is this just dominance like in dogs?

Yes they are establishing the pecking order or dominance factor, no need to worry.

Ha ha, My mom witnessed this the other day too. We were trying to figure it out. We concluded that it is dominance.

I figured...I know my RIR's are the top dogs, they run around the coop like they're in a gang or something! Poor Buffy! As if it's not bad enough with the rooster!
