Suddenly, a few days ago my silkie roo started experiencing a frothy saliva. No swollen face no drippy eye. It's like viscousy post-nasal drip. It isn't crop stuff as there is no smell and it is clear - just a bit frothy. He eats, but it's not pleasant with all that stuff in his beak. He sounds and vocalizes like he has a stuffy nose. Any ideas on this? Having the vet come out tomorrow.

Isolate him from your flock ASAP. It does sound respiratory and is probably contagious. The vet will be your best resource regarding treatment. Keep him warm and calm woth food and water until tomorrow. Good luck!

Really strange. It doesn't coincide with any symptoms I've read in the books. Came on suddenly. Not sure if it's a complication of the plugged noses the silkies get. Had plugs of food pulled from my hen's nose. See what happens tomorrow. Even the vet is a bit stumped as it's not like an infectious disease - no sneezing, coughing, smell, discharge, etc.
