Weird thing my chicken laid

Also we have 2 groups 1 is 10 months the other is almost 2
I honestly don't know exactly which one it is. There is what appears to be a blue she'll in that thing which would lead me to believe it is 1 of the 4 Americanas 2 are under a year and 2 are nearly a year.
It is hard to tell from the article but is this contagious I guess if it is bacterial it could be.
@aart ? I really don't have much experience with it. Just what I've read. I don't think there's actually any shell, it's just mostly pus. I don't think it's contagious either. Just keep an eye on your birds and make sure they all seem well. Odds are they'll be just fine.

That could be a lash egg, further dissection might confirm.
I don't think Salpingitis is contagious.
Thanks for coming to my rescue! :bow
I'm going to watch this thread to increase my lash egg knowledge. 👍

I appreciate both your help. We will be watching no one seems to be acting out of the norm except the molting chicken who we had taken out because she was naked in the freezing weather (shaking) and we had just put her back in right when I cleaned the coop.

My Chicken Nutmeg passed away the other day. She "Tricked" me because we have 2 broodie chickens and I thought she was a third. She was lethargic and by the time I was going to ease her pain she passed away minutes before. Honestly I am 99% sure it was her with the issue, because all my other blue egg layers laid that day. It was a sad day for us all.

It does reinforce the love I have for our chickens (and ducks) and wanting to make sure they are healthy and happy. Thank you all above who helped diagnose.
