Weird ? - what would make a package of sausage blow up?

Traumas are really not in my development plans, but I think Gritsar would not be real happy with me using them for Thanksgiving dinner instead of the Turkey. My wife would not be either, so that is not an option.

Gritty-I have to tell you, you aren't the only one with expanding sausage! I had some (Jimmie Dean, Sage) about two weeks ago that did the same thing! I cut mine open and it smelled "BAD!"

I never thought to contact the company about it, and I certainly never dreamed it would create a 29-page topic on BYC!
