After a post in Steve_of_Sandspoultry's thread the other day about my missing blacksnakes, one of them decided to come home. This is a welcomed sight after seeing 4 Copperheads(and dispatching)so far this year. He was in the process of swallowing a small Copperhead when I happened to cross his path. I tried to get the camera before he got the last 6" of it consumed but I was too late. Now time to double check my runs to make sure he can't get in.

I'm glad your friend came home. Nice to let them get rid of the copperheads!

Yep, better make sure your coop and runs are locked down tight or you Friend will be snatching your eggs! My grandma used and old white ceramic door knob as "fake egg" her resident black snake ate the door knob instead of the eggs!!!!!!!!!!!

What a blessing! I'd be giving him some eggs, a golden tree to hang out in, a red carpet, the works. Eating a copperhead for you? Awesome! Thanks for the pictures, he is beautiful.

Very pretty! Among rodents certain species of snake will readily eat anythign venomous, some people actually pay to have certain kinds released on their land because they realise how benefitail they are.

Many snakes have no problem dealing with winter, there are only a few places in the world free of snakes, such as Antarctica.
