Hi there! 
I have been reading forums on BYC for a couple of years to help fuel my chicken obsession!
Figured it was time to join the community in hopes of raving about chickens with fellow chicken lovers.
My family is willing to listen for only so long......
As for the questionnaire...here it goes!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I purchased my Ameraucana flock from Murray McMurray Hatchery in May of 2020. I was inspired by my 3 senior Ameraucanas (all 13 years old this year) who still lay in late Spring and Summer. The breed phenotype and the longevity of these 3 seniors motivated me to pursue more chickens along with the panic buying of eggs, I wanted my own source.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have a small flock of 24 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have Ameraucanas and recently discovered that my rooster is a Cuckoo Maran!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far my favorite aspects have been watching their personalities evolve, their colors come in and process my eggs! The feather plumage and purposes of chickens have inspired me to learn about poultry genetics, and rare breeds.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Developing our homestead, riding my OTTB (off-track Thoroughbred), and raising our little babes to be a chicken lady too one day!
(6) How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I need more friends to talk to about chickens....
