Hello and Welcome To BYC and Happy Holidays! Sorry about the loss of your Newby If you are only going to do one batch, a lot of people like the big cardboard boxes like Watermelons or appliances come in for chick brooders, you can just throw them away when you are done.

Sorry for your loss. I would recommend that you keep chicks in a brooder with access to fresh food and water. You also want to provide them with a source of heat, e.g. a heat lamp.

Sorry you lost Newby, she sounded like quite an entertaining personality. I know I would love to see some of your pictures. Hope you will put them up .

I'm trying to decide what breed of chickens to go with my other three that I have left,
I have two americana's and one I'm not sure what she is, she looks like the chickens you see on commercials,
I will post some pics, I just need to figure out how to do that on here,

I don't know what kind of chicken Newby was either, we just ended up with her,and she was older
