Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep your flock extra healthy and free of parasites?

Keeping the coop clean, always fresh water, and I add apple cider vinegar to their water. That helps to cut down on algae or scum and helps prevent fungal/yeast infections. Spend time with your flock daily. As you get to know them, and they get to know you, you'll notice immediately if one of them seems off or injured.

Does anyone know how to do a fecal float at home? I've had my chickens for about 2 1/2 years and just want to do everything to keep them in tip-top shape!:)

Unless you have a microscope to examine for parasite eggs and know what to look for, I don't see the point. Most chickens who have parasites would exhibit other symptoms. If you don't have a reason to suspect parasites, then why do it?
Thx. I wasn't quite sure if it was actually worth to do.

Chickens will try to eat all kinds of disgusting things but I've had mine for years with no evidence of parasites. Unless you see alarming symptoms or notice a drastic change in their eating habits or poop, I wouldn't worry too much.

I wasn't to worried just wondered what it was all about! Thx for the suggestions and advice!
