Well, First batch of Bobwhite eggs went into Lockdown this morning...

From your photo it looks like you found some good liquid stress relief! Hang tight and keep chilling ....what will be will happen in time.

Is there any news on the Bobwhite hatching? You cant start a post and then keep everyone in suspense with cliff-hangers without supplying those whom show an interest with a cold one to pass the time!

Well, this morning I went to purchase a 20 Gauge Over and Under and when I got home at 1pm there was a little baby chick in the incubator. I didn't think they were supposed to hatch until tomorrow.

Now I'm freaking out because I'm not sure when they are going to hatch, how long can I leave that little guy in there by himself? I can't open the incubator because from what I have read it will hurt the others.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Any advice would be appreciated.

It will be ok for about 24 hours no problem.
Its not unusual to have a few pop early, then a big hatch, then a few late ones.
I usually only wait two days past the due date now and pitch whatever hasn't hatched because I don't want late genetics.

Ditto on what Dragons4U said. Think about it in our own lives, we have premature and overdue babies in our human births all the time! Why would other life forms be any different? With eggs, chicks and calenders its either toss the overdue outliers or get a hammer and tap-hatch that Chicky out! If you are looking for Numbers for the frying pan then play the wait-n-see 3 days game, if you want genetics and good stock for other purposes Dragons4u's advice seems to hit the nail on the head.

Ok, hopefully someone sees this in a timely manner...

So last night they really started hatching, I have a bunch in there now.

Ok, so I'm looking in the incubator and I see there is a chick UNDER the Screen of the Hovabator

Should I open the incubator and save the chick?

I would save it as well. Just try to be quick as you can so the temp and humidity don't drop too much. Then add some warm water through a hole to bring what humidity you do lose back up. Be careful not to add too much or else it will drown any pipped un- hatched chicks.
I, unfortunately, did that on my first hatch.
