Hi and welcome to BYC

On this link you'll find lots of information on almost every aspect of keeping birds - from coop building ideas, to incubating eggs - https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/

There’s a link on the page above to the Learning Centre - it’s a great resource. If you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

Each week, various topics are discussed, which can also be a great resource - https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/topic-of-the-week-thread-archives

This is a useful link of BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3 (there's a guide on how to include your location under your avatar - including your location is very helpful). You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.

Best wishes

My husband definitely feels coffee is a hobby for that perfect cup of brew in the morning or after dinner treat. Welcome! You may like the coop ideas look around read about what you do and don’t want. Most of all check laws and ordinances in your area with your local planning commission to see what you have to do to own fowl and place a structure on it. They may require application, permits, dictate structure, number of birds, if Roos are permitted or not etc. Here are the various coop ideas. Good Luck ! Have fun! And check out the Learning Center on raising chickens.

So many knowledgeable people, I will always be thankful to the folks for helping me through saving my buff orpington from a certain death sour crop. :bowI had no idea what was happening with her. Now she's a happy hen once again! :yesss:
So, I rely on BYC for happy hens! And a good chuckle for myself sometimes!
