YourLinkGoesHere I have been reading the peafowl section for a while and just couldn't stand it anymore. I went to a peafowl farm today outside of Houston and picked up a 2010 pair of black shoulders. I also got a mixed dozen of eggs. Let me tell you, next time I pick up peas, I will go in the truck not the Ford Edge! I had them in a dog carrier and they pooped right away and let me tell you

!!!!!! I had a 150mile drive home. I tried to roll down the windows a little to get some relief and it just made it worse!! It swirled the odor up front 10X worse. It got so bad I saw a skunk in the highway and I thought, "O lord, give me a good wiff of that dead skunk!" They should have been named "peafoul". All kidding aside, I got them home and into their new temp pen. It is only 10X10 but the one I am fixing for them is 50X25. They have never been in the grass before or the ground for that matter and they really loved it! I didn't even look at the eggs until I got home to see what I had but she had labeled each egg with color and pen number. I ended up with:

3 Blackshoulder
3 India Blues
1 Pied Spalding
1 Pied
1 Silver Pied
1 Emerald Spalding
2 Emeralds

I hope I get a good hatch.

It was too late and dark for pics but I will take some tomorrow and post them here.

Here are the pics!

You can see Katie, the 10 week pyreneese in the back watching them. She is great already.

Yes Steve,

If I have a good hatch you can see that I have quite a mix of eggs and I will HAVE to get a mate for them!!!!!!! I do plan on penning the black shoulders and freeranging some with the flock.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. Get some india blues to freerange. I have 3 India eggs and can get plenty more.
