Well I Made The Big Leap

well the temp has been steady now for nearly 24 hrs so hopefully later tonight i will be able to place the eggs in

I have a Genesis 1588 Hovabator. I've never taken the red plugs out.
My understanding is ...........if your bator 'fogs up' / condensation (water droplets) build up on the inside of the window, you would remove a plug to lower the humidity. I have never experienced fogging, so my plugs have stayed in place.
Welcome to the world of hatching. Don't be surprised if you get hooked.

It's on when it's heating. It goes on and off to keep the temperature steady.

the red light is staying on constantly unless i turn the temp adjuster down is it ok for it to stay on constantly is it safe if it does that and can i put the eggs in if it stays on and does not go off last night it was going on and off and today it is staying on all day

the thermometers that come with the incubators are not really that good it would not hurt to pick up a combo thermometer/hygrometer from wal mart

well i just set 24 eggs the temp droped some while the incubator was open i will monitor it to make sure it goes back up

I have the same incubator!!! and put a batch of 34 in today also!!!
