Kids and I set up the fish tank as a bator. NOT fancy at all, pretty casual project really. We have a fan, a light on a dimmer, water pan, and four themometers. Nothing that can't be pluged in (I've never wired a thing in my life) LOL.. So anyway, the temps have gone all over the place, 102-95. I just kind of wonder by and up or lower the dimmer switch when ever I notice it, which is fairly often because it is in a high traffic area, but other than turning the eggs, I don't really go out of my way. In the back of my head I am kind of expecting nothing much to come of it, but the kids begged me to set it up after we saw some fish tank bators on here. We are only on day 4.
So, last night, I was looking at silkiechickens thread on egg development and I realized that you could see veining and stuff this early, so I said, why not. I candled two, and I couldn't believe it, but they are growing!!!!!! It was so cool, I got that little fluttery feeling and called the kids in to see. I tried to play it a little on the cool side, becasue who knows if these eggs are gonna make it, and I want the kids to be a least prepared for a few or more to quit, but inside I was like.......
