Genetics looks too much like math to me and so there fore it is going to take me a little bit to get used to it. But ive noticed that When you breed :

Mallard OR Rouen OR Khaki campbells

to

Buff OR Saxony OR fawn / white runners

You always get the same colors and lacing. The blue laced in red.

Anyone care to explain genetics at an elementary level to me? Please excuse my slowness, but it will take a while for me to get the hang of this.

This reminds me of a project I want to start. I have saxony ducks and want a better laying bird so I thought about crossing to campbells which would give me all saxony colored F1 and lots of variation in the F2. So I am almost thinking about making a saxony colored campbell but maybe not using saxony but blue fawn (?) runners, I think it would be interesting.

I think I MIGHT be getting what you are saying.

So If I breed a F/W Runner drake to my cayuga - the ducklings will be Dark rather than following the lighter coloration of the drake?
