Well, it hatched. Not a healthy chick though...

Our one and only chick to hatch has been out for almost 24 hours now and it is not healthy. It looks like it didn't absorb all of the yolk so it has this yellow thing protruding from it. It won't open it's eyes and it's feet are sort of curled up so it cannot walk well. However, it seems like it is getting stronger. It's peeping a lot and flopping around quite a bit.

I was worried how my daughter would take it when it died and now I am starting to worry that we are going to end up with a crippled, blind chicken that we have to euthanize! Ugh.

Keep it warm. If it's out of the bator make certain it's getting water.
